CUEA partnered with the California Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network (CalWARN) during the ACWA Semi-Annual Conference to present an interactive session focused on utility coordination within California’s emergency management framework.
The session explored how utilities operate within California’s Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) at the local, regional, and state levels. Attendees learned how organizations such as CUEA and CalWARN work together to support utility preparedness, response, recovery, and mutual assistance efforts.
While both organizations share a commitment to supporting utilities during emergencies, each provides unique capabilities and value. The presentation highlighted how collaboration between the two organizations strengthens California’s ability to coordinate resources, share information, and support affected communities during incidents.
The session reinforced the importance of strong partnerships and a coordinated approach to utility resilience across the state.
