CUEA recently participated in the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Semi-Annual Conference, where the organization presented on the role of water utilities within California’s emergency management system.
The presentation highlighted how water utilities fit into preparedness, response, recovery, and coordination structures at the local, regional, and state levels. CUEA also shared how utilities can strengthen their voice within emergency management processes and improve coordination during incidents that impact critical infrastructure.
As a result of the presentation, CUEA was invited to participate in the ACWA Local Government Workgroup, providing an additional opportunity to represent utility interests and strengthen relationships within California’s water sector.
This engagement supports CUEA’s mission to advocate for utility needs and improve emergency coordination across all utility sectors statewide.
