With September marking National Emergency Preparedness Month, this week’s exercise was a timely reminder that preparedness is something we practice, not just plan for. Thank you to everyone who helped test our mutual assistance process by responding to PG&E’s earthquake and tsunami exercise request. All resource needs were met within the exercise timeframe, and we appreciate the speed and cooperation members showed in exercising alongside PG&E’s team.
As part of the exercise, PG&E requested mutual assistance support for 200 FTE electric distribution personnel, with a same-day response deadline. Members were asked to confirm availability, FTE counts, mobilization timeframes, and any conditions affecting deployment (no actual resources were mobilized).
