CUEA participated in PacificCorp’s Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) functional exercise, supporting coordination efforts designed to improve preparedness for wildfire-related power disruptions.
The exercise provided an opportunity for utilities, emergency managers, and response partners to evaluate communication protocols, situational awareness processes, and operational decision-making during a simulated PSPS event.
As Public Safety Power Shutoffs continue to be an important wildfire risk mitigation strategy throughout the western United States, exercises like these help strengthen relationships and improve coordination among utility operators and emergency management partners.
Participation in functional exercises allows CUEA to represent member interests while helping identify best practices that can improve preparedness and resilience across utility sectors.
