CUEA Board Chair Thom Porter (SDG&E), Vice Chair Crystal Chambers (SCE), and Executive Director Dana Moore recently met with Cal OES Director Caroline Thomas Jacobs and Deputy Director Ian Bastek to discuss the future of utility emergency preparedness and coordination in California.
During the meeting, CUEA leadership shared updates on the organization’s transformation, including changes to its leadership structure, business model, mission, vision, and long-term strategic priorities.
The discussion highlighted CUEA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination among utility sectors, support mutual assistance activities, and improve emergency preparedness statewide. Leadership also outlined goals for the coming year and shared a vision for continued growth over the next several years.
Cal OES leadership reaffirmed the value CUEA provides to California’s emergency management community and expressed support for continued collaboration between the two organizations.
The meeting represents another step forward in strengthening the long-standing partnership between Cal OES and California’s utility community.
